Hoax
[edit]I added the {{hoax}} tag because though I have seen the New Journal page, I am still not convinced. There are many, many books far lengthier than the Harry Potter series. I've never heard any mention of Bible headache, for example. Not-notable to me, and possibly not even real. — Gary Kirk // talk! 14:28, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ah. Thanks for explaining. It's true that the biggest Potters are not particularily long as huge books go (I recommend The Egyptian, by the way, if they translated it properly it's awesome), but keep in mind that the addictiveness of the series [1] and the obsessiveness of the Harry Potter fandom are both famous, for good reason. You used the Bible as your example: Bibles are usually very small and in tiny text, while the Potters are children's books printed with good-sized, easy-to-read text. My Half-Blood Prince is about twice the size of my Bible, and both Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix are substantially bigger than that, true bug-squishers. Further, the sufferers described were children, whose tolerance of the strain (not to mention their reading speed) would be substantially lower. If the kids I knew are any indication I wouldn't swear by their knowledge of ergonomics, either. --Kizor 21:06, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
