- Every theorem in mathematics requires a set of assumptions or hypotheses from which its conclusions are derived. Mathematical proofs are procedures for transforming hypotheses into conclusions.
Removed. That may be so, but this doesn't seem the right place for such abstract speculation. Also, it's perhaps weird to call axioms "hypotheses". --Ryguasu 06:53 Dec 8, 2002 (UTC)
