[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Ukrainian phonology, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions.
Please note that, while «Літопис» is a useful resource, it is simply a collection of works, including essays and research materials that contradict each other. It doesn't claim to be a reliable source, therefore content should be treated with care. Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:12, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
- Further to this, for the purposes of English Wikipedia, my understanding is that we should focus on common usage rather than various specialised studies which are grounded in regional and historical research and perceived differentiations between the sound «г» in various contexts: i.e., the primary objective is to reflect that which is considered to be «культурна»/«літературна» українська мова. On this understanding, a more generalised balance is required. If you believe that I am incorrect, please open a new section on the pronunciation of «г» in the Ukrainian language on the corresponding talk page. I am not adverse to a discussion regarding the matter but, of late, much original research has been added to the article. Thank you for your consideration.
- To @Iryna Harpy. Ukrains'ky Pravopys, Kyiv: Naukova dumka, 2012 ("Ukrainian Orthography") is the most reliable source in this case. It is the official Ukrainian orthography, which describes Ukrainian sound «г» as «гортанний щілинний приголосний» ("laryngeal fricative consonant"), not «глотковий» ("pharyngeal"). Maksym Ye.
