Birthplace note
[edit]There are several published and on-line sources that give his Harvie’s birthplace as Gargunnock, Scotland. His father, also John, was born there. But it was the father who came to Virginia, settling in Albemarle County, then married a girl from Richmond on January 10, 1742. Harvie’s birthdate is unknown, the year comes from (among other sources) a note in the family bible.Lou I 19:32, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Dispute Founding Father claim
[edit]@User:Randy Kryn: John Harvie is considered a Founding Father by whom? Since you didn't add a citation, we have no way of telling. So please apply one so we can discuss what your source is and then what other sources have to say. Allreet (talk) 10:20, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
