Its deepavali not diwali, change that and keep it as deepavali only, Sanskrit word deepavali is the origin Vishalg46512 (talk) 03:07, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Vishalg46512: We use the common name rather than classical names (see WP:COMMONNAME). RegentsPark (comment) 14:40, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Diwali is not observed by Muslims

[edit]

Hi! Respectfully wanted to share that Muslims do not celebrate Deepavali as it is not part of Islamic beliefs. Hope you’ll be able to amend it. Thanks! 58.182.151.84 (talk) 14:28, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DEEPAVALI is the correct word for this festival. Diwali is a corroded word over time, by simplifying, shortening of the actual word Deepavali. 101.78.85.6 (talk) 11:10, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Primary Source Basis for definition claims

[edit]

The article sources non-Hindu, non-Dharmic, non primary sources to claim Diwali which celebrates return of Sri Rama to Ayodhya is “good over evil, knowledge over ignorance” extremely vague usage of terms without the qualifier “Dharmic notion”. 2600:1009:B185:6F92:C9D1:E25:E580:98C1 (talk) 02:25, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
